Thanks Steve, these trees are a trip! I thought pinching my junipers were a chore until I got my 2 cypress trees, now I can never rest:)

Beautiful Duane! Have you thought of a different pot for it, something a little less heavy and robust?

Hello Rick, yes you're correct, it does need a different pot. I will leave it for now & will search for a pot in the near future.

Bob, thanks for having a look at this one.

I worked on this cypress last month at our club meeting. When I finished the tree, several members said it looked too contrived. I had a little mistake on the apex also:)

Yesterday, I tried to correct & make it more natural? Also worked on the apex. Better now?

The trick to a great crown is that it should be organized without looking organized. :D I think you have improved it greatly because the rows were softened... and you fixed the apex quite nicely.

Daniel teaches one very simple thought on this, and frankly it always works... style every branch as if it is a crown, and it will all come together to form a cohesive image. Applying the pricipal of gnarly, undulating branches of course.... ;)

I have to run off to work... so I'll have to dig up some example photos later....

Kindest regards,

Victrinia
