I may let a few big pomegranates go, but not in the near future. I know someone who has quite a few old twisted trunk but you must be in Southern California to get those.

How much would those run?

The pomegranate dead wood tends to turn black with the time. I can see it more clear after the rain.

Only one live vein seen in the front.
2.png

It has new leaves at this time.
3.png

But this one just has the vegetative buds.

This smaller one also has dark dead wood. It has one live vein in the front.

The twisted trunk shows black deadwood at the previous pruned areas (yellow arrows)

I used to name this tree as " Lone pomegranate". When I looked at it this morning, it reminded me one of my H.S teachers who I has deep respect and admiration. My childhood memory was just rolled back!! I can not be who I am without her help! I decide to change this tree's name to "Revered Teacher" !
1.png

It has a lot of new vegetative buds now.
2.png

This small one is also having new shoots

I love to watch the new leaves and buds!!! So peaceful!

That is a very nice tribute to your teacher, I can't think of a better honor than that.

The temperature is down to 35 F here in a few nights! The pomegranates' new leaves are enjoying the cold with reddish brown color. My friend told me that the more cold it is, the more reddish the new leaves are!

I like pomegranate bonsai because I can enjoy its new leaves, flowers, fruit, and branch lines in all seasons!

The small one already has one flower bud today!

Can you see multiple tiny white dots on the leaves?

I love this one the most. What do the dots on the leaves mean on the one above?

You have lovely trees. My pom is just a house plant at this stage but it's going into the ground this summer to hopefully put on some size.
Mine blooms every year but I have yet to get fruit, do some varieties just not fruit? It's a nana

The dots are sulfur granules!

Thank you. Nana should have fruits. May be the way you prune the tree or fertilizer?
Yes, some varieties will rarely give fruit (may be one for every 4 - 5 years)

My teacher gave me this little one. If I correctly remember, it had strawberry lemonade flower. It is still in 4" pot but it is bearing a lot of flower buds.

Below are those big cuttings. They are growing very well now.
1- Should I fertilize them now? Absolutely no no
2- Should I remove all the new shoot except some selected shoots? No no.
Why?
