Welcome Aboard Bonsai Nut!
Congratulations on your first effort!
The idea when doing your first styling is to have a solid 3D goal in mind that aligns with either a traditional style or wild, naturalist style. At this point the tree is not yet meeting these criteria, yet is working towards a cascade style. The upside is the tree has plenty of growth left and looks really healthy. Let it rest. Next time
If it were me:
I’d study as many trees, whatever the species, in this style. Then study the existing juniper branches and see how things will fit within this style, which foliage needs to stay and go.
Also please plan where the wires will route to give you maximum effectiveness. Plan on using larger gauge wire so it will hold.
Next spring repot into bonsai media and plan to fully style the tree next fall.
cheers
