They went out a touch early... I used 50F as my mark... (they’ve been out a while now.. it’s just taking a while to update everything)

The wire was recently removed and a little time/attention was taken/spent on correcting some first-year errors that set me back.. but they are doing well...

Even WITH our violent temperature swings, which I’m finding out NOT all species can tolerate. 🤣7CE1E851-D670-49B1-B969-CA221DACEECA.jpegC836D2CC-8372-40E9-9032-750F9C19F38B.jpeg30D99CF8-1017-4A4D-9184-6F8FB6A71012.jpegC4E29824-2EF2-44DC-8DD5-DA3E3DB76187.jpegD3BF078F-488F-4279-803C-90684BB636B0.jpegF2EAFB52-914E-4724-BB86-EF77B408FF96.jpegD5B970B1-17D9-4F34-8012-20D278695DD8.jpegD9BB79D4-4048-499E-9FDD-34541FBBFFA4.jpeg

I found that, personally, i had more problems with pests when I was underwatering...

Many people think/will say that “poms like it to get dry.. they can take a lil’ drought..“.. this is NOT the entire truth.

While they ARE very tough trees that will bounce back from the brink of death (multiple times)... they, themselves, HATE drought... they get watered like 2-3 times a day here (That’s also the substrate’s doing 🤣).. and sometimes i feel they could “drink” MORE.

Now is about that time that I give these babies a harder prune, allowing a period of warmer outdoor recovery before they come in for the winter.

First up, the super-informal, exposed-root-creating lower trunk-mini-broom-style-in development!!🤣🤣1C5509CD-10A3-49EC-9976-DD9F4868FF4C.jpeg303B37F8-97A0-4E27-8631-876EB7F21C02.jpeg
Then this one... looking alright.1312D759-A4CC-4080-80EE-462D232548BF.jpegCB545392-5E8F-461F-AEF1-761F482E7832.jpeg

Did a little shaping and LOOSELY, TEMPORARILY wired some things. You GOTTA do it this way with youngER Punica growth...

SOME of these will be for sale in Late Spring... they will get repotted around Christmas.

This “wacky” one that I am working on, that has exposed-roots wrapped to create a trunk, needs slow-development, and is a project/experiment which will need much time... so it got a shallow pot... A @sorce pot... actually one of my favorite Sorce pots that I own. He ripped a mostly dead tree out of it, dumped out the substrate, and said, “...you can have this shallow one, too! Y’see? It’s not the shallow pot’s fault in these situations, it’s the care-giver” (or SOMETHING like that)

.

Fate is like a River.

Sorce
“Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time?" That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past nor the shadow of the future.”

Some of these trees slumbered... and gave an "Autumn show" Some Partially defiolated and Sloooooowed down.. some panicked and blew coat fast.

I'm quite happy with the simulated "Tropical Winter Temps" in my cool rooms. This response from my Semi-Deciduous Punica, leads me to believe that My adjustments are just gracing that fringe... which is neat..
Either way.. they have begun to wake up and "get movin'"! It is Still pretty durn cold in there at night.... (low point is around 53)
So
I decided it was a good day for photos... (there ARE some Intermittent Punica Cuttings in these shots) 8742DE69-CBD5-414D-A4F0-3F10A0E58708.jpeg8C4461EF-E3CB-4983-B29D-6DC44CEB3E7B.jpeg
