I just found a picture from 2003 of when I first got this tree. That's Kayla hanging out under the shelf. And yes, those "humidity trays" are foam sushi takeout trays.

It's been indoors its whole life, and got super leggy. This year I kept it outside all season, and it has exploded with new growth along the trunk and all of the branches. It's kind of fascinating, which is why I wanted to share. I can't find any pictures of it at the start of the season, but it was kind of sad with just some leaves out at the tips.

And because it had gotten leggy, and the healthy growth at the end has gotten so big, it's sort of become a weeping jade. Here is an Imgur video of a spinaround.

Hey. I had the same problem. When I bought my house it came with a huge jade that was long and lanky. I trimmed it up and over 2 years I made it into a bonsai. I'll attach a photo of it and the process. 1st photo is when I got it
2nd is when I trimmed and repotted it, then split it into 2(I fold the left bottom one)
3rd is after putting it outside and repotting it in the summer.

I read they grow lanky when they arnt getting direct sunlight, and its reaching for the sunlight when it grows long. I put a grow light above mine in winter inside because it gets -40C and put it outside in summer. It has thickened out since. I'm hoping it grows even thicker next year.
