Sun exposure is one of major factors that affects the dormancy !
This twisted pomegranate is placed in the east side of the house. It received about 1 hr direct sunlight every day

Happy New Year to you too!

Unfortunately given the time of year, I don't have any current flower photos to share.

It has a lot of rain lately in my area. I love rain, but I cannot do much in the rain!!
I walked around my garden under light rain this morning, and suddenly I counted how many trees transplanted since November 2018. Totally, 6 big and 5 small trees were transplanted !! To me, it is a lot.
Still have some more trees needed transplant! o_O These rainy days have been slowing me down.

It is no rain today. I had time to trim landscape tree and clean up the yard.
This wing elm was dug few years ago. It only had one small root at that time. It goes strong now. I pruned back and removed some. It will be carved soon, if I have time!

Outside temp is 60 F now. I am able to do some work on this California juniper this afternoon. This tree was collected by Mr. Harry Hirao long time ago and he gifted it to Kofu Kai bonsai club for auction. I won this tree around 10 years ago. It was really weak when I acquired. After transplanting, fertilizing and having some heavy works, it has been growing very well!
One month ago

After unwirinf pruning and rewiring in the right side of the tree.

I will continue working on it this week if I have time !!
