Nandina Bamboo Update

Took some shots of my nandina bamboo I posted before. Grew into a big bush over the summer. Just thinned it out selecting potential primary branching.

Tree's very healthy. When I dug it out I recall seeing a lot of mycelium around the roots. Today I noticed a lot of tiny mushrooms popping around the soil, presumably the fruiting bodies of the original mycelium. Usually I find that mycelial growth and presence of mushrooms in your bonsai pot is a good thing. They would never develop without stable soil conditions and well aerated soil. It probably helps that this tree is planted in a 50/50 mix of coarse bark and lava. Took some macro shots I thought were cool. Put an update on my blog too if you care to read it:
