Was in Tulsa the other day and noticed these incredible Juniperus Virginianus. The first photo is at a distance of about 25 yds. Note the two rams under the canopy for shade. The above is a tight crown and dead wood above. Unfortuantly I did not stop the car and try to get it through the wire fence. I have photoshopped some of the wire.
The other few photos are at a cemetery in Perkins. These were also incredible specimens. The cemetery was from the 1880-90's as it was started well before the Oklahoma Cessation in 1889, as we know the OK Territory was a hideout for criminals and squatters.
Most delightful to see them as testimonials to the endurance and 'nasty' attitude they have.
Beauty is beauty. Nature is not a discriminator.
