It's worth mentioning that all these trees (with the exception of the shohin maple) are BIG trees. Most are over two feet, some, like the ginkgo and zelkova approach five...In person, they're even more impressive. Also this is only a fraction of the trees at the Arb. (in D.C.). A lot of the deciduous stuff have been put away and I didn't take pictures of the any the pines--which would have taken a lot more time than I had.
OK, I lied. Here are two that I stumbled over, a cork bark Black pine and a root over rock Black pine. The cork barks are in the Chinese pavilion (and I think they're in a Ron Lang pot) The root over rock is one of the trees currently on display at the entrace to the overall exhibit...
Oh, and BTW, I didn't plan on the"halo" effect on the flat top BC, didn't notice the effect until I posted it here...Vaughn must've have been watching...
