I had this little cutting of a mulberry that started taking off like crazy.
In the yard are a few pieces of tree trunks rotting out from the center in pretty cool patterns.
so, I put the log in a pot with a little compost and soil, a little soil in the hole, and stuck the little tree in there.
mill let it grow and chop back over the next couple of years and see what happens as the log rots away and exposes the roots.
who knows, it might turn out nicely, and if not, nothing is lost.

Growing quickly
Chopped back.
mulberries don’t seem to heal all that well from big big chops, so I’m starting early and adding movement.
it may take longer to “caliper up” but this thing seems to want to grow so maybe not.
