Need help identifying a tree

I would also like any advise.

The second tree looked like the first tree until I potted it and started cleaning out all the dead material and trimming back the excess growth on the branches. Both trees have been potted now for two weeks in their native soil. The native soil is almost all sand. The root ball was two or three major tap roots and thousands of fine hair like roots bunched tightly just below the surface.
 
I do not think it's native to the area. I found the tree in Maryland in the Curtis Bay area.

I have a close up of the foliage and I tried to get a picture of the trunk but I don't think it came out very good. As soon as I can get to a computer I will post the photo to the net then here to this thread.

Pretty sure it is a juniper. If this came from somewhere other than someone's yard, it probably is Juniperus virginiana, the so-called red cedar.

If you just dug them up, you need to do nothing more than nurse them and keep them alive until NEXT year.
