Hey everyone,
Need help identifying what could potentially be going on with my privet clump.
summary of work so far:
bought in sept last year
trunks chopped and sealed and repotted out of nursery mix into 50% diatomaceous earth 50% pumice 2 weeks ago as buds were swelling.
everything was looking good until today I saw red sticky ooze coming from all the cut sites on the privet. I am assuming this is one of two things:
1) privet is potentially bleeding sap and this species is red sap? Similar to how jap maples bleed?
2) it’s fungal and needs some sort of systemic intervention.
Any nutters on here able to help me make heads or tails of this?
