Hey guys I am so confused. I hope someone can help me with this one. I have a lot trees and all doing great but this Larch started a few days ago and something is going on. Its been happy all spring great strong growth no this.

It is collected american Larch I have had it for over a year did great all last year. Didn't repot this year but its not root bound and drains very well.

I would imagine that with this past winter, it did get cold temps, but maybe not? A. Larch must have a cold winter to thrive. Did it dry out at any point? Looks like plenty of growth it put on...

yes very cold winter. never went bone dry.

I'm wondering if it could be a fungal issue, though totally guessing here. I've never heard of a larch growing as far south as Raleigh, though I know of one that has been growing up in Asheville for a long time and seems to be healthy and happy. Perhaps you could contact Arthur Joura, the curator of the bonsai collection at the NC arboretum in Asheville, and get his opinion. Here's hoping you figure it out.

Honest it "looks" like you are cooking it against the brick. Perhaps pull it away 2 foot or so, and water, also looks dry.
