need pricing advice on a few trees.
I have been growing bonsai trees (or trying at first) for over 20 years starting at age 8-9. After college and a brief career in archaeology ending in unemployment I decided that I could enjoy my hobby and bring my finances under control at the sane time. I generally sell the trees based on the difficulty/cost of obtaining the plant. How much training and effort I have put into the tree, and then of course the value of the pot the tree is in. I am having a rough time uploading pictures, so I think I will have to post a link to a location where the picture already is. I have two trees, both said to be about 30 years old. A pine and an olive. The pine is about a foot high, 2+ feet wide at the widest point in the canopy, and has a trunk diameter at ~3 inches. It is in a stone pot, no more than 15"x10"x5"; however it is root-bound, and definitely needs a new larger pot. I have only had the pine for a year or so, but it was grown from a sapling or seed and has a lot of potential. The olive is also said to be 25-35 (can't remember exactly) and has only recently been trained, although it may be a remnant of a larger tree that was in training decades ago before dying back. I have only had it a short time (9 months I think). It is no more than 8" tall, 3-4" wide, and a max trunk diameter of 1 1/2"- 1 3/4". Both were obtained in clearance type situations. I am having a difficult time confidently assigning prices to these two trees. If anyone has a clearer picture of these trees' value or an opinion on what is fair to buyer and seller, any feedback would be welcome. Since I cannot upload pics directly to the site, here they are posted on facebook.
