Brand new to this bonsai thing. Was fascinated by a bonsai garden I went to last year. Spent the past year or so reading and stalking the forums, as well as slowly collecting a few plants here and there. Have not attempted to touch them other than keep them healthy. Anyway, was needing some help with some tree ID as well as maybe some confirmation that a few things I bought are what I got. Tips are always appreciated. These first two are shimpaku...have looked at ID threads and it's still hard for me to really say with any confidence. Third is a JBP but looks a little lime green rather than dark.

MOLON LABE! Like your avatar. Not much help with ID for now. Much easier for ID if good closeups of foliage and buds and also flowers if they flower:confused:. However Black Pine just needs fertilizer and sun and will take on healthier color when it grows. Not all are such dark green, just most of them;). Am also curious what potted pine is in 2nd group of pics. Wise not to get carried away working them for now. Just keep trees healthy and allow to establish till next year or 2018. One thing of advice; unless you plan to grow a cascade tree is not good to use any deep pot. Roots should be training for shallowness from beginning. Please do not repot now because of this but next time around. A couple of those wild trees would have been good Bonsai subjects if a bit smaller and collectible. Welcome and best of fortune with new hobby.

Nice!

Welcome to Crazy!

Your JBP might just need some iron.
