the ponderosa has been busy as of late. It was trucked back to NY for the show and brought back to the west coast where in now stands again on display. This pine gets around! :)

Those moss-covered pots/containers are very cool. I remember seeing a post somewhere about them, maybe on Michael's blog? Anyway, they turned out great.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

your sure welcome. What i found out on the moss was that while it looks different in side by side patches, one is the same kind just at different stages of maturity. One is dark and the other green.

Thanks for showing us what goes on in the cold northwest. Very cool pictures.

smoke, you got that right...it's been so "cool" for the last two months. Seriously starting to get to me, tho. Tomorrow am up volunteering at the collection. Rain is ruining the satsuki in bloom, so I can image what we'll be doing tomorrow. Looks like a day with tweezers in hand.

we've been gone and missed all the blooms this year ... but at least the person caring for the trees has been able to enjoy them ...

Thanks for taking these pics dick... I look forward to heading up there and seeing the exhibition ... several of these were at the US National Exhibition if I am correct ...

For the sake of continuity I'll link to your other great post about the previous exhibition that took place just before this one...

Thanks Dick, for this one, and that link to the other thread. I think I saw a Dan tree that I hadn't yet!!, now I'll have to get the book out again....(there goes another hour as I drool over the photo pages...)

When I haven't been on Bonsai Nut for awhile there is always a sense of excitment about what might be posted. This thread is the kind that has you wanting more. Thanks.

Forgive me but, where is this exhibition taking place exactly? I'll be in the Seattle area from the 13th to the 16th of July and would love to include this in my visit.

Thanks,
Evan

edit: for anyone else unfamiliar with the area:
33663 Weyerhaeuser Way South
Federal Way, WA 98001

the main north-south route thru seattle is Interstate 5. So you'd head south on I-5 until you come to the city of federal way and take
The Highway 18 turn off to head east. The first exit off hwy 18 is weyerhaeuser way. You'd take a left at the top of the exit ramp and proceed to a turnabout and exiting out of it at the top of the circle to the left. In a few hundred feet your at the entrance to Weyerhauser
on your left. Follow the signs to the bonsai display parking and a short foot path will take you there. closed mondays, basically they're open from 10-4.

From the middle of seattle, the drive should take no longer then 30-40 mins depending on traffic. There is no charge.
