About time for an update on these puppies. Only six short years later and the first one looks like this.IMG_9923.jpegPretty slow development compared with other trees. Branch development and ramification is a challenge with both of them. But I like where it is. Took the other one in a different direction and will have to get a pic to post. They are both getting a change of front next year.

Here’s the second one. The idea was for something like the short rounded dissectums grown in front lawns or patio pots. Similar challenges as the first one. It prefers to bud from the trunk than from a branch. But very flexible. The apex still needs to be grown from one of the three branchlets coming from the thick top. This one is a stronger grower in general and thickens more easily, sometimes too easily.
