We hosted a local grower at our Blue Ridge Bonsai Society meeting yesterday who was selling a bunch of nice pre-bonsai. Great prices and lots of stock if you wanted J. maple, trident, stewartia seedlings. He also had a bunch of J. black pine he grew in deep pots for use as exposed root plantings. Also a variety of large more devloped stuff including this little black pine. This little guy is about 8 years old and seems pretty healthy. There are a couple branches that need to be removed and a little bit of a knob to work down but it should be a fun project tree and I like the contorted shape and interesting nebari on the front. Here are some shots of all 4 sides. I also included a shot showing a proposed cut to remove one partial branch and reduce the knob. The price was too good to pass up even with the knob. Suggestions gladly accepted.

Very nice little pine. No hurry to rmove the branch. Why don't you leave it on this winter and mull it over. You can decide in the spring. I have made many cuts that I later questioned.
