Hey guys,

Just wanted to share my new chinese elm. I just pruned it and repotted it WITHOUT root pruning. I know its not the best time to repot but the soil wasnt quality bonsai medium and I didnt prune any roots. Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Nice specimen! It is a good plant to work with and has an interesting shape. You will enjoy having it many years ;) For now I would just concentrate on keeping it healthy and seeing how it wants to develop and learn its habits.

I missed this thread. How did the elm react to the repotting? I'm curious. I figure the top pruning would help reduce transpiration while the roots recover (even without root pruning).
