Hey guys and girls!

I’m new to this forum. My name is Richard. I have 1 jade bonsai. It’s grown pretty well over this past spring/summer growth time. I have an idea that I need to prune, but not exactly sure the best route to go and where needs to be pruned and how much. Any tips?

Welcome to the forum.

I do not grow portucalaria, so cannot help you there. Note that Jade typically refers to crassula. Yours I think is mini jade in common tongue.

Your jade is actually not a true jade.
Jade is Crassula.
You have Portulacaria Afra, aka Spekboom, dwarf jade, baby jade, mini jade, elephants food....

Here is my P. Afra's journey so far....if you're interested.

That is a serious journey! Very cool how you have gotten it to grow so well and together. I think my toughest part is figuring our how to keep it together like that comparably to it stretching itself out like it is now. I am not sure other than buying wiring and pruning it back to get it back to size. Or if its even necessary to make it grow the same way.
