New Rosewood Stand

Nice wood and nicely done!

My only concern is that it might attract too much attention (away from the bonsai itself). I personally prefer simpler stand and believe "less is more" in this case.

I understand your concern and usually would agree; however, I had a different thought when I saw this stand earlier today. I can see in my mind's eye a beautiful yet simple bonsai on this stand. I am sure I am not expressing this very well and am not good on virts. What about a tree such as these:
Neea buxifolia.jpgChinese Quince.jpgEugenia xerophitica.jpgJapanese Maple Speciment.jpgTrident Maple.jpg

My question is really an attempt to learn more on displaying. These are photos of trees I have admired and have saved on my computer trying to learn from others whose work I found outstanding.

It is mostly personal taste as far as I am concerned so no right or wrong way. It well done, I love the finish...just a bit more ornate & heavy for me. I am sure it is perfect for somebody else.

Nice collection and I do the same :) . If I may suggest, try finding the same trees in their leafless form if possible. You will learn more from those.
