New to bonsai - luma apiculata temu, help?

So I've sort of dived in head first into bonsai and picked up quite a few trees I (maybe) know what I'm doing with, but today I found this luma that I'm not sure about. All it's leaves are crispy, and I'm wondering if I can bring it back to life again. I've read it can take some abuse and it's a fast growing species, but my horticultural expertise extends to succulents and cacti, not so much trees and shrubs- although I'm working hard to change that.
Any advice and tips are much appreciated. And I can post pics if needed.

Looks to have a bit of life left!

Even on a phone with a low battery dimmed screen!

Ha! It must be in good shape indeed then. At this point what can I do to rejuvenate it and get some new foliage to grow?

I'd throw it out!

@Bonsai Nut has helped people bring trees in this state back to life....of this state is still alive all!

If it's not too much trouble, could I ask you about this variegated trident maple I picked up as well. This one is actually my fault as I put it in full sun and I came home to this, crispness. What's to be done at this point to help restore it? I have zero experience with this kind.

You know...when everyone else is sleeping....and this becomes a one on one back and forth....
I do have the ability to run people off with bad brown tree jokes!

But I do want you to succeed so before I do...
Here's your backup...and a good read!

One more..?

Don't we get enough brown in the diapers!

They are not staying inside are they?

How did the trident to so fast?

No water?

If these are in "bonsai soil"...

You may have to water twice a day!

As much as you Don't water a succulent..
You do water a tree.....
More or less.

Here to hoping you don't run me off, as I'd really like to stay awhile! Lol
The trident maple I believe is in bonsai soil already, and I did have that one outside since I got it 3 days ago. I was watering once a day. The temps here have been in the 100+. Yesterday I moved it from shade to full afternoon sun with the other nursery stock I've collected in the last couple weeks (azalea, berberis, spruce and a mirror plant all which are fine) at which point it crisped up. Prior to my ownership it was at a bonsai nursery under pretty dense shade netting.
The little luma i just got today, i tend to buy the sick and dying (succulents) because I like watching them flourish. So I got it the hopes of turning it around without quite knowing much about it. It's in regular nursery well draining potting soil.

They all need to be outside....all the time.
Over winter may require some protection depending on your climate.
And welcome!

I think your first tree is a lost cause, but the second one may still be salvageable. You need to put it in bright light, but no sun and make sure you keep the soil moist but not soaking wet. No pruning, no repotting, and definitely no fertilizing. If you are lucky, the tree may recover.

At this point you just need to provide the perfect environment and hope for the best.

Thank you. The second one, the trident maple, I've brought it inside, by a bright window, but I can put it back outside in a bright shaded area. My only concern is, with the condition that it's in, should I really put it outside in 100+ degree weather?

That'll be key.

@Smoke has a lot of great hot Cali maple posts here...
And a great blog.

At least ALL your trees are not this way!

I have about 40% shade netting for an area that gets afternoon sun so I can try putting them there moving forward.
Thanks Sorce!

Thanks! And i have all of my other nursery stock outside, I just brought these two inside because it's 100+ here in Sacramento and I don't know if that kind of heat would just exacerbate them even more.
