Hello All,

Have aquired a couple if Picea Glauca and to be honest don't know what to do with them. The one has been butchered (not by me!) the other one has not been touched.
Have read that these tree's can be problematic.
As totally new to all this ,Any help would be much appreciated as this the forum where people seem to be quite helpful.
All advice is welcome

Welcome aboard! First off, your trees look healthy and alive, so that means you're doing something right. I think a lot of people on this forum here have fiddled with little spruce like those before. I've seen them on sale after the holidays at 2 for $5, and at that price they're great practice material. In the long run though, they can be frustratingly hard to make into credible bonsai because the foliage tends to make little "fox-tails" at the end of the branches, and they rarely produce adventitious buds close to the trunk. That said, since you already have the trees, you might as well try to make something with them. On the second one, I would start by just looking at it and trying to picture a little tree in there somewhere. Then thin it out, shorten it, whittle the top away so it looks like it got hit by lightning...whatever! It would help us all if you would update your profile with your location so that we can give more specific advice. Good luck!

Thanks for that.
The 2nd one does have twin trunks. So think that might be the way ahead.
Will update profile
