This is a sign of hope for the year that just started, my Ume broke it's buds just overnight. The sweet smell is always so pleasant, and it's always bloomed later in the month, so I'll take the sign for luck!

The color of certain areas of the bark singing in harmony with the tones of those WONDERFUL bird figurines... and THEN your eyes get drawn back inward with the stain-highlighted attributes of the wood grain belonging to those “disks”...
