Okay guys and girls, here is one of the trees I picked up when I first started a year ago. At that time I slipped it into more potting soil instead of a bonsai suitable substrate, the pains of being the new guy ??‍♂️

This is the thread all about it:

https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/hospital-sea-green-where-to-begin.26942/

Anyway, at that time I was eager but had no clue about styling and butchered it pretty good:

Now as I gear up to finally spend some time with my trees (summer solstice and all that lol ) I intend to slippot it into DE, but I also want to start some kind of styling direction.

After the initial butcher debacle I've always seen this as a windswept with a jin or something opposite it, but I'm afraid I've let it thicken to much to put adequate movement into it to allow a believe windswept.

Anyway and all suggestions would be appreciated. Here are some updates pictures. Its bounced back quite nicely. You can still see the skeleton in that older picture Sadly, it has NOT produced much or anymore lower branches.

No advice for styling. But the tree has quite a bit of spittle bug. Usually not a pest of significant problem in a landscape, though for a potted plant like this and the amount you may want to spray them with an insecticide. Organic/low impact should do, they are very easy to eradicate.

That’s too funny. In the images it looks just like a common landscape pest spittle bug. Never mind then!
