Greetings,
I have been practicing the art for over 20+ years, since I was a teenager. This is also when I started grafting Japanese maples and select conifers. I do own a nursery but came here after reviewing several forums and found this the most appealing. Maples are my passion as my user name implies. What I don't propagate my own material I spend my time collecting trees from the wild. Something appealing about a specimen that has been torn and tattered in a natural environment and carrying it over when training...
Outside of nursery and horticulture duties, I enjoy photography, traditional archery, rodeo (years back), getting out in one of my jeeps and exploring the not so beaten path or making my own. I live to have my Blue Healer Abby by my side. A sweet, loyal and over excited to her herself bark!
She's my little helper except when she walks by a 30g Red Select and snaps off a low leader branch.... To her, it's just a stick.
I'll update more later but just wanted to give a brief intro and say hello!
