Purchased this guy from a local nursery a bit after repotting season this year, plan to put him in a much shallower container next year. A lot of the reasoning behind the pruning was to go ahead and start an initial structure. I also needed to reduce the amount of room this guy was going to take up when I have to bring him inside for winter as it’s already tight in there.

Upcoming plans/problems for this guy is as follows:

1. I can’t really decide on a front for this guy. I’m leaning towards pic #2 or 3. I’m not entirely sold on the apex as it has practically no taper until the top branch.
2. I feel as though the branch in red can be removed as it is going to be too think in the long run of the design.
3. Wiring is very rough as I’ve learned this species is very brittle and you can break branches pretty easily, not to mention the wood is VERY hard in my experience.

Again this is mostly to track the progress of the tree and get advice. Appreciate any input!
