Another batch for the contest. I will soak these and the first batch of seeds overnight soon.

Good germination rate from the Mikawa seeds without stratification, not so much with the regular JBP.

I'm curious to know, if you don't mind sharing, what was your yield rate for the Mikawa from "myseeds.co?"

I'm thinking of adding some Mikawa to my project but these are a tad pricey compared to my other vendors (not Mikawa).

Thanks

Keep in mind i did not cold stratify. With that said I think i'm around 60 or 70%,

Yeah, I didn't cold stratify my first Schumacher batch of 30 seeds either.
But I only got 47% sprouts.
So, I started another batch of 64 on a 15 day cold stratification to see it that makes a difference.
Still though, assuming the rate will be the same, I'm looking to other vendors.

So, just to be clear, that 60% to 70% rate you received is specific to the Mikawa you bought from myseeds.co, correct?

yes, that is correct. approx 60%-70% successful germination from myseedco. without the cold stratification phase.

I didn't stratify because I am impatient and was not terribly concerned with results. If i were really trying to get the most out of them, I would cold stratify the directed 30 days.

Due to a February vacation and inattentive sitter, my initial batch died. Not to be discouraged I restarted another batch of mikawa. Seedling cuttings a month ago or so and the appear to be taking.

Consistently neglected, seemed to have something fungal for a bit, but these are the survivors... Next spring will give them some wire and upgrade to a colander.
