OH-NO Home Depot Juni

Here is a Chinese Juniper I purchased at Home Depot for about $30 dollars
It's main trunk was straight as a telephone pole and it's overall shape
resembled a hersery's kiss.

I used some heavy wiring to put some movement into the trunk, and
went through and wired out the complete tree. The work was done about
a month or so ago, and foilage is really starting to come it. Which I am
going to let go till next year. At that time if I feel it is ready, I will start
concetrating on the development of the foilage pads.

Good start and good idea on styling this tree. I think you will like it in a couple of years, nice artistic concept if you are going the way I am seeing it from the photo.

I have a really basic question but I'm a newb. Why is the pot at an angle (I have seen it in other pictures too). Is it to get the new growth to grow "up" thereby creating a bend between what you have trained to be swept over and the new growth?

I think the pot is tilted like that because that is going to be the new potting angle come time to repot.

Nice score from home depot!

Yes the pot is at an angle to display the way the plant will be positioned once it is repotted.

Either that or Stacy was hitting the ol' corn squeezins' while he took that shot !

Nice work looks like you wired all the way to the tips. I think it will look pretty good in the next few years.

Very nice.. In a few years when the pads fill out and the structure is in place, this will be a nice tree...Also, the structure is a bit different than a regular bonsai.. Which looks pretty good.
