So I was a bit disappointed about my mini tahi bougies, and today went to a nursery.
I had swored not to buy any tree this season (I have enough), but......

In my climate, I'm allowd to chop or repot these almost whenever I want.

So what would you do in the coming months? Where do you think I should chop? Should I confess and wait for punishment?

Those look nice. You could probably make a few trees out of those. Whatever you chop off could probably root. Good finds!

I have a bonsai teacher who calls bougies and ficus 'cockroaches'. Meaning you just can't kill them in Florida and indeed you really can't.

We have some from our yard with trunks that size that rooted without any hormone...and they're already blooming and have lots of buds They grow like weeds here.

I imagine your climate is much the same and you can chop wherever and whenever.

Good luck with them and have fun.

I know you don't need any more, but I see 3 or 4 trees from cuttings from each of them.

So I've finally finished the first works on these. Now I have 2 good rooted bonsai candidates, and four promising cuttings.....
I feel it's too much, so I'll be giving away some..... Also I have noticed driftwood present in those trunks (I think 40% of the bark in the second, is covering driftwood). Is it that usual in mini thai boganvilles?

Ah yes I think we all know the “just one more” sickness well here. Nice trees, don’t have a Bougie myself but it’s been on my list for a while but I am proud to say I have resisted temptation so far!

Come over to the dark side. It's fun having flowers in the winter!

It should survive or you will have a dead vein on the side with no roots.
