Got a few dead olive trunks ranging from small to massive size abd will be experimenting with phoenix graft with some.and maybe in growing a few small olives in pockets of those large dead trunks to hopefully have them.mimick a mountain composition maybe.
Starting with this first small.one that I really love the shape of the wood. I have already treated the wood to avoid rotting.

Do you think its a good match with this pot or do I need a more contrasting color pot ? I got few small wild olives which ill plant one in the pot and grow the branches to go out of abd around the dead wood.
Appreciate any tips or comments..

out of interest, and because I have a tall olive with loads of deadwood: What did you use to treat it?

I thinkt he pot looks good.
Thanks,
Paint shop advised some oil based varnish they use for boats. 1st time I try it so well see if the wood ends up holding. We spray painted it as it was easier than with a brush.
