Oriental Hornbeam #80 - This tree has made enormous progress. Collected in 2012, first styling 2014, now, only six years later it seems quite mature already. It looks like there are some methods which make a difference.

Beautiful tree and I love that pot as well. I wish we had oriental hornbeam around here. They seem to lend themselves so well to really powerful bonsai. Thanks for posting.

Hedge pruning does not work. I suggest you send me the tree so you will not have to bother looking at it. Kidding, of course.

Walter, it is a superb tree. It may not be up to your show standards yet, but it would draw crowds at our Baton Rouge show just the way it is. I keep scouting, but I haven't come up with a species in my area that might give similar results.
