In another thread you both posted that you were reading books about Hitler.
Do you both have a interest in Nazi Germany and the events of WW2?

I have a interest in both Nazi Germany as well as the Holocaust and I have several books on the subject.
Ive also watched every documentary that Ive seen on the History Channel or AMC.
I am not Jewish myself but I am a member of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in NYC where I have learned more about that period.

My own interest lies in trying to understand the rise of Nazi Germany and the things that happened that led to the Holocaust.

I dont want this to devolve into an argument or a tirade of conspiracy theories/politics and if it does Ill ask that it be locked.

My interest is ALSO in the “Rise to power”.. and specifically how it related to the German People at that time... Internal/civil unrest is a fascinating subject to study /interpret as a whole, as well.

I also like pursuing/observing WWIIs influence in the arts.. more specifically, Literature, I ADORE and strive to empathize with The works of Authors such as Vonnegut and Hesse

I am currently outside, so my response had to be somewhat brief.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

I think the only reason the Holocaust out shadowed the atrocities in Russia is because it was covering up the German involvement in time travel, or the study of machines from the future. Other folks call them Aliens.

Nothing else explains the advances in German Technology from that point forward, except maybe having control over so much study of actual things with so many geniuses at one time.

@Leo in N E Illinois told me about the company he used to work for paying reparations. I wonder if anyone is keeping track of how many lives, Jewish or otherwise, German Technology has saved.

Hard to think there is a Sliver lining on the Old.... correction, NEW Schwastika, but I'd bet by that measure the reparations will be paid shortly, of course, they'd have to figure in how many birds died from that VW scandal...but....

I personally think Hitler was a genious, if mad.

Agreed! Atrocities have taken/are taking a large place in our history as humans.. (Christopher Columbus‘ “expeditions..... as well as the TRUE start of the Slave Trade come to mind) It is important to be ABLE to discuss.. reasonably.

Agreed.. Communist Russia’s “flavor” at that time was just as, if not MORE horribly sinister than Nazi Germany’s. The effects are still GREAT throughout the Polish communities IN Russia.

I (Could) believe the information exchange “channels” (Aliens, Ancient/Futuristic Arcane Knowledge/accessing “raw universe”.. ect. )were accessed and utilized, consistently, Throughout history, by those causing great oppression.. all the way back to Egypt, and most likely further.
This is an interesting “trail” to pursue, thought to entertain.

If by the "atrocities in Russia" you mean the events after WW2. Yes Russia certainly did equally terrible things after the war.

I think the Holocaust gets so much more attention is because it happened and was discovered during the world war, where there lots of different countries and many many people involved. Also afterwards, the world was so weary in the aftermath that the Russian things were either not noticed or just much better hidden and only came out years later. In fact, Russia used many of the very same camps the Nazis had used to imprison people. The Japanese also did some pretty bad things to the Chinese and in the Philippines in their conquests. There are certainly other examples around the world since WW2 of terrible human atrocities, some of them even very recently (last decade or two). Notably Burma/Myanmar, Iraq, Syria. Im sure there are others.

So it seems that the world hasnt learned anything from world history or ignore it when it comes to their own desires.

Mad, yes definitely. Not sure about genius in the same terms that Einstein was a genius, but Hitler certainly was an expert at human manipulation.
He was a gifted speaker and could capture an audience. He also had men around him that were experts at human manipulation and propaganda spin.

I think we as a society need to have these discussions, rationally of course or nothing will ever change. These things will keep happening if we dont.
As the saying goes, "He whom does not know history is doomed to repeat it" Soon all of those that lived through it will be gone. It falls to us that are left to make sure these events do not fade into obscurity. In fact, I believe it is our obligation to history and to those that came before as well as those who will come after.

I also do not believe in aliens. The advances in German Technology were in parallel step with the advances in USA technology. It was simply the step by step advancement of science. Any "miracle discovery" that only could have come from aliens, all you have to do is look at the science history. You will see how step by step the discoveries added up. Einstein did not just have a blinding flash of revelation, he was contemplating the results of the Michaelson-Morley experiments of 15 years earlier. If Einstein had not published there were 2 or 3 others who would have gotten to special relativity within the next few years. Similar with General Relativity, Einstein was first, but if he had not published, in time, 5 maybe 10 years others would have gotten there. You don't need Aliens to explain German technology.

It is important to study history, in order to understand and not repeat the mistakes. There are disturbing parallels between the rise of Adolf Hitler and modern USA politics. One difference between Trump and HItler was Hitler won the majority of popular vote. Trump only won the electoral college, Hillary beat him by near 3 million in the popular vote. The rhetoric that Trump uses echos the rhetoric of Mussolini and Hitler. The demonization of minority groups, and of the opposition are good examples of techniques used by Mussolini.

So it is important to study the past. And to recognize the anti-democratic techniques used by those men. Both Germany and Italy were democratic countries before the rise of their dictators. In fact both Hitler and Mussolini won the popular elections that initially put them in office.

So yes, lets study this history, in order that we never let it happen again.

There have been many parallels, SINCE, of MANY of the “moves” Hitler made over 1930. Using this great anxiety (Of the current times) as a “lever”.. demonizing scapegoats and promising his followers a grand, violent March on Berlin. To take steps AGAINST these perceived enemies of the German people. Strong-arming a neutral-positioned army into willing obedience... through passive intimidation (using this technique to gain support in other “avenues” as well).

These are tactics used since, I’m certain.

I don't know if I believe this. I believe everything is cyclical, therefore knowing history may actually cause us to repeat it.

In the grand scheme of things....

Even Evil is just a Human thought, so is it really negative?

I was going to write this thing called "Default Human" the other day. After thinking about how we, as humans, are always reverent to what we don't understand. Folks have gone from believing in God, to being atheist, to believing, or at least questioning the idea that a "simulation" is real and we're in it.

We just feel like anything we can't control and don't understand is God, or controlling us.

We're too smart but too stupid at the same time.

Default Human is a Moron.

But Default Human is also Not racist, Default Human is ONLY trying to Survive.

If you take a racist white dude that suffered amnesia and drop him amongst another race, his default won't be to hate, because it will get him killed.

When we are rinsed clean all we have left is to survive.

I wish the world would Default.

I have been watching things that show the Mainstream Media pushed this understanding and it is not really true at all.

It's said that Trump did more for the Black Community and the Gay community.

I side stepped the alien thing. It is an interesting topic, along with the Nazi's fascination with the occult but I think it is just a side story.

Yes Hitler was evil and I also have no praise or love for such an individual. But there is no denying he had an hypnotic effect on those that listened to him speak. It is manipulation at its finest.

I agree with you. The German advanced in technology were simply due to the drive they had to get it done and in experimentation, sometimes on humans. I agree with the concept that Einstein was first but he was not the only one and it would have some in time.

I also agree with the parallels there are between Hitler, Mussolini and probably other dictators and more recent "leaders", often how close the details are to each other are nothing short of scary. There have been so many times when I have heard the words of Trump in his speeches that it raised hairs up the back of my neck.

@sorce I believe hatred is learned. We are not born with it. We are taught it by the social environment we grow up in, our parents, our peers, our experiences. If you look at how the hatred of the Jews in Nazi Germany evolved, youll see that is how it began.

Even tho I’m not even old enough to vote why do people compare Trump to Hitler . Like no one wants to talk about that Joe Biden said he doesn’t want black kids in school with white kids and Obama is the only good black person. The Democratic Party tries to make it seem that they are trying to help the black community and others but aren’t. I have parents that are Democrats and they refuse to look on the other side . Also this is a bonsai form btw

The quote in the video where Joe Biden said he did not want black kids in schools with white kids was from nearly 50 years ago. He was brand new in congress and the hot issue of the day was whether or not bussing could be initiated. People change, Biden certainly has changed, and times had changed. Biden chose a black woman as his running mate. He certainly has demonstrated that he has changed since the school bussing debate 40 or 50 years earlier.

You would not need to go 40 years backwards in Trump's career to find some really rabidly racist things he had said. And you watch what Trump did, he surrounded himself with wealthy white men, and the occasional wealthy white woman as his cabinet, staff and advisors. Where Biden's cabinet, staff and advisors is a kaleidoscope of people from different backgrounds.

Biden if famous for making verbal gaffs, and is usually quick to apologize and backtrack. Trump when he insults a group or a person, never backs down and never apologizes. There is a huge difference between the 2.

Sorry but I don’t think “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black” was 40 years ago . And yes he did apologize but he never apologized to the people who can’t afford insulin when Trump tried to help. Apologizing doesn’t really change anything. You are right, Biden's gaff about "if you vote for Trump, you ain't black", yes, that was a 2020 quote. It alone isn't enough to "prove" Biden is as bad a racist as Trump.

About insulin, Trump was constantly trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obama Care. Tens of thousands of diabetics were getting their insulin paid for via Obama care, and Trump was trying to take that away. It is bullshit that he tried to help people get insulin. He was tossing a fig leaf to obscure the fact that he was working to destroy Obama Care. He caused more people to loose health coverage than he helped to get coverage.
