Permission from the commission

Has anyone in the UK ever asked for permission to collect woodland trees from the Forestry Commission? I found a few little belters today and wondered if there’s any chance of nabbing some of them.

Yes they should give permission if you ask at the right district office and explain what youre looking for! - just google FC Oxfordshire and ask for the local FC manager . you could start with

Wonderful. Thank you very much. My girlfriend, being an ecologist, has worked with him before and chastised me for not asking her first. Funny how she’s interested when it suits her! I thought I’d ask here first and see if it’s a no go from the outset, but I’ll get on to him and see how it goes.

I will. It would certainly be a great source of material and as they run it as a lumber enterprise, mainly, they have little need for the stuff we’re after, in theory.
