I find a couple sub forums disgusting.

I say we eliminate the beginner forum.
If you can't make a tree why are you posting at a bonsai sight. A tree has to have many years of training before it can even be considered a bonsai. So why post a stick in a pot and think it is a bonsai.

Juniper forum has to go.
Junipers are not trees, they are shrubs and prostrate. They are hard to train, require wire for decades and are prone to spidermite. I find them disgusting.

Tropical Forum
I find it comical that people above the latitude of Florida even consider tropicals. They look out of place and are hard to train and keep for 95 percent of the population.

Events and outings I find this sub forum disgusting also. 90 percent of the time events are posted and then there are never any pictures posted of the event. What a waste of time. when there are pictures they are taken with a phone camera, out of focus and poorly composed. Again a waste of time.

The Soil Forum
Another disgusting site. I hate the argueing and reasoning about how good kitty litter is as a soil component. I can't stand the whining about the shipping on a bag of akadama that costs more than the plant is worth they want to plant it in. If you can't afford the art then get out.

The Tool Forum
This could be a good forum for those that know what their doing but there are those that come here and clog it all up with threads about straightening wire, tools for bonsai from tools in the garage and buying wire by the kilo instead of 50 cents worth. This is an expensive hobby, maybe one should start a site for beginners that want to do bonsai on a budget?

The Forum in General
If I have to listen or read about one more person that has a "tree that is dying", or "can you help me style this stick in a pot", or "is oil dry good for planting bonsai in". How about "I bought this pot and I want to repot it now, what do you guys think"?

I am just as entitled to have the forum the way I want it right? Anyone agree or am I just being a little childish?

Satire....gotta love it......

come on Al .... ur just mad cuz you like arguing with harry there and would miss it .... tell the truth.... its ok .... we already know ....

BTW i agree the above sections should go too... but for realistic and less dramatic reasons .....

P.S. why is it people always want to defend the off topic sections of a forum ???

** off topic as in .... NOT having anything to do with the purpose of the forum ....

P.P.S -- for the person about to scold me about "freedoms" and "rights" .... this is the internet people..... there are no such things here ... get over yourselves

I'm not mad at all.

I couldn't care less if the bar was gone or any of the other crap I posted. I don't post crap like that in those forums. I try to make every post I start in any catagory on this site educational, informative, humerous and loaded with pictures.

What I do on another part of the forum is nobodies buisness but those I wish to argue with.

I don't tell other people here what or how to post, I just wish I could be afforded the same respect and freedoms others share here.

As far as those that wish to view others in a different light based on comments in the bar, you would be doing the exact same thing as those in the bar do, you would be bigoted and biased based on things or ideas you may not agree with. I don't judge people here because they post crappy trees or plant them in kitty litter. I just don't read that crap or post to them. I would rather not post something if I can't be constructive. I'm just not going to waste my time telling someone for the 80th time that kitty litter is not really the best choice. I don't need the post count so I'll just leave that to some that think that "post count" and "thanks" mean something.

I see no difference about "that" thread started in the suggestion part of the forum about the bar that should have been posted in the bar. It contains just as much venom and hatred as anything I have read in the bar.

Put that in your pipes and smoke it.

PS- Not that it matters, but I agree on everything...except the Junipers section. We've got to keep that going. ;-p

Just to clarify, I really didn't buy that juniper...though it is probably one of the best juniper bonsai I've ever seen in my life.

Smoke, you old socialist ! I would admit though that I think you have more right to want a certain part of the forum removed just by your level of seniority here, over 4100 posts certainly qualifies you more than the person with 300 posts demanding the forum changes to suit his tastes, and definetly morseo than the guy with 7 posts who agrees with him.

Bottom line is that the forum is successful the way it is, and its not up to anyone but the creator of it to decide what is available, after its his playground you gotta play by his rules.

Although I would get rid of Auction Bonsai of the Month as the last post there was in 2008!

Embarrassing to admit this, but I missed that too. haha -- Though part of me assumed you weren't serious...probably the fact that I've seen junipers in your garden. ;-p
