I guess there is truth in the opinion that knees are high water level related?

Interesting, Knees belong to the BC behind the pine. The pine seed must have found a nice well spot on top of and in the nest of knees and grew among them.

Yep. The knees formed a live bonsai pot. That pine is 40 ft tall at least though so it is an imperial bonsai.
