Hi - this is my first Mugo yamadori I dug up last year and I think it's quite healthy. Come next repotting, I will pot it more straight up I guess.
I thought about possible ways to go forward and wanted to ask for input (keep in mind I'm a greenhorn ;)). I'm also open to much more radical options.
Thanks in advance!

Is this the same tree I missed from your first thread?

Welcome to Crazy!

I think you have enough low growth to leave this in a holding pattern, nurturing that low growth to become your future tree, while simply allowing that tall part to be your health sacrifice in the meantime.

Thanks! So you you see potential for that red circeled part to be the new leader one day, right?

Agree with Gorilla
Its not strong enough for more work right now.
It needs more time, fertilizer and energy to get strong again before you do more to it.

Again, I agree with Gorilla.
The upright trunk is too straight and boring with no branches
