Pinus Rigida (Pitch Pine) #53, #54, #55

Grown from seed. The three individual trees then planted together. About 4 years old. Next year going to fertilize heavily, prune in summer, and wire some structure. In a few years, I may try cutting the bark back a little to get them to fuse together at the base.

I could be wrong on this, but pines aren't too prone to contact grafting: maybe a little surgery is required to get them to join together

Yeah, I was going to cut into them slighlty and try letting them fuse that way. I think it should work alright. Maybe youre right though and they wont fuse that way.

Has done really well this year. A lot of buds and options for next year. Probably needs a repot year after next.
