Hi Drew ,
I could be totally wrong here. I am thinking it looks like one of the Bouvardia species. Nice sub-tropical plant used in the cut flower industry.
I am curious now, so hoping someone else might comment.

Loropetalum for the other plants. Could be the variegated variety called Jazz Hands. The variegation could change because of the amount of light the plants receive.

Definitely not lorapetulum. Leaves are much more tender and rounded also are not fuzzy like lorapetulum

Here's a seed that was mixed in with some of the elms that i bought. Looks like it could be birch or beech? Not sure it's beech though bc it's in full sun and no sunburn.20180603_124534.jpg20180603_124540.jpg
