Dear bonsai lover, I have a little bit issue with my bonsai. I forgot to water my bonsai for 4 days, but it always stayed inside in my terrace (shady place). starting from the 4th day, I have tried to make up for the water supply. However, some leaves have started to become yellowish (please see all the pictures attach). Is this bonsai going to die and is there any hope to help to revive11092541_10206505150169304_285264157_n.jpg 11103894_10206505151889347_1286021771_n.jpg 11103894_10206505151889347_1286021771_n.jpg 11076142_10206505147689242_1191773553_n.jpg it again? Looks like pretty retentive soil, which may have saved you here, but may cause other problems!

If these pix are after no water for 4 days, it looks just fine. Looks like the yellowing leaves are old interior leaves, which broadleaf evergreens tend to shed as growth starts in spring. When a tree dries out, the visible damage starts at the tips, moving inward inward. Best to always have someone stop by at least daily when you're a bonsai collector and leaving town.

Is it a pomegranate?

Your tree looks fine, but it won't stay that way if you keep that soil it's in. It looks like garden store potting soil and as such will stay much TOO wet. If this is your only tree, I suggest you purchase a bag of bonsai soil from a bonsai nursery somewhere (Cactus soil probably will do, also) and repot.

They, let the tree dry out between waterings.

Yes, I concur, if it is your only bonsai, home depot or Lowes will have cactus soil or call around for some true bonsai soil. The tree will live. It even looks healthy to me.

Looks like a serissa to me. Not 100% sure though. If so, a few yellow leaves are nothing to worry about. It seems healthy to me too.

Efresina you need to change your profile to include your location, city and state preferable. And give us the species of your tree. Recommendations and guidance is based upon these 2 factors. OH and when you take pictures try to have a plain background so your tree is not confused with the background. And welcome on board. This is a great hobby with an abundance of great people.

If you are in the tropics, you need to get local help for your soil. They do it different in your neck of the woods.

Ehmmm... it's seem my soil is so wet now. What should I do now? What do you mean by asking local help? I don't have any experience with this. Please help. Thank you

One guideline for all bonsai is to make sure that the soil mix is open and free-draining. When your bonsai soil becomes hard and compact, you need to repot your tree and put in new soil. You want to be careful when you do this - you want to be gentle with the tree, and depending on the species and the climate, there may be specific times of the year that are best for repotting. In some cases, it is even best to repot half of the tree one year, and then repot the other half of the tree the next. This is why people are suggesting you talk to someone in Indonesia (a local bonsai club perhaps?) because they will have recommendations on the best season for your tree.
