Defoliated my bougainvillea tonight and did a little wiring. This little guy has been through a ton over the past three years from semi cascade to windswept to falling off the stand and getting chewed on by a squirrel. Still a long ways to go but I think this year I finally like the direction I have it going in now.

Here are several photos that I've taken on my tree tourism travels. All in the UK.

Firstly, a pair of pines in the Lake District. North West England.

This is me with the largest oak tree in Europe known as Majesty. It has a 12m girth. The tree is not widely known about.

This is a Yew in a church yard not far from where I live said to be around 3000 years old. With some of my family.

All the trunks in this photo belong to a single yew tree which has layered its own branches. Some of the layers have also layered branches. Kingly Vale South East England.

This is one of a pair of trees known to be the oldest English Elms in the world, the Preston Twins. The town of Brighton is protected from Dutch Elm disease by neighbouring hills and strict policies.

An oak growing on a sandstone boulder.

A spruce and a Scottish castle.

Gotta love this time of year when places start marking down shrubs. Picked up a pair of 5g yew's today for only $17 each. Got decent size trunks on them so should give me something fun to play around with.

A majestic scots pine. Just bring that right hand branch down a liiiiiittle more.

This area is scots pine central, but there's also a lot of pinus nigra. I'm trying to get permission to dig some pines that have been mowed over before they'll get the saw.

An eastern hog nosed snake.
All in defense mode because I laid Ruperts leash on him.
These things are so cool! They rear up like a cobra, his and writhe around. But try as I might I couldn't get him to try to bite me. A couple pokes and he just turned over and played dead.20180825_062137.jpg

They eat only toads. They have 2 fangs in the rear of their mouth to pop them when the toad puffs up.
I had one in captivity years ago. He always lived up to being the "cobra" for people who didnt know about the snakes.
