I have noted new growth on my Podocarpus,it's so exciting as it rarely does anything at a terrific speed.

The question is did i encourage it into growth by repotting a week ago or is it just doing it's thing?

I repotted as after an age of inactivity it was a bit boring.

About a month past i also took away it's tiny buds with the tip of a surgical scalpel.

It was all intuition.

When i bought it the leaves were all chalky top and underside, even the Leaf Shine wipes had trouble removing it.

It was a relief to be able to finally remove those old scabby leaves.

You are right about the roots, initially i thought the Oxalis weed had smothered them but some time on they are still quite cautious.

Truck,

Is that your podocarpus? Wow, you got paid and then some :D.

Don't see alot of these that well developed--trunk is very nice, as is the branching.

I have been growing a few podocarpus species from seed, in the ground for 11 years now, they are nowhere near this one. May be in another 10 years.

20 years alltogether, seems like a good bet..
