FWIW, Pond cypress and BC seem to interbreed regularly. Over the years, I've noticed that Fla. collected BC always seem to have this kind of foliage (awl shaped), while Louisiana collected BC always have feather like leaves...My bonsai friends have several old Fla. collected BC as bonsai. They all have this kind of foliage or a mix of the two. First photo is mine. Second stolen from Redwood Ryan

In the area I am looking the trees are close to one another but all have been planted just in the past 15 years. I'm sure interbreeding has already started among them.
