In 1986 Dan Robinson and I did a dual demo for the Bonsai Society of San Francisco at their annual exhibit. Dan styled an old collected Ponderosa Pine. I constructed a rock structure to plant in on, using fast setting construction grade epoxy. One of the club members won it in the raffle. Not long after that she gave it to me as it was much too heavy for her to manage.

I've been doing some needle removal and wiring to make it more presentable. Height including the pot is about 30 inches.

WoW, I'm glad I'm the first one to get to respond because that is one awesome presentation. Reminds me of the High Country.

Barry, you have the correct view. When Dan and I were discussing this project, he wanted a rock structure that resembled a ledge on a cliff. Dan said he collected this pine off of a ledge on the high Rocky Mountains.
I'm very happy to have been able to keep the tree healthy for the past 20 some years.

Best Regards

Mike
