Repotted my nursury stock ponderosa pine and found out there was a lot of trunk buried. Would this be considered raft style??20230305_095528.jpg20230305_095651.jpg

Raft style is when the trunk lays flat on the ground, and new trunks sprout upwards. It us as if a tree fell down in the woods a the upward branches became new trunks. In the case of your tree, I would think of it as an informal upright

Ok cool. Is it normal to have that thick of a root surfacing so high? It was super rootbound in a 2 gallon nursery pot when I bought it. By the way, there is some very fibrous roots ramifying between the root nub and the trunk. Roots very active right now on my ponderosa, lodgepole and western white pines.20230305_101445.jpg20230302_110657.jpg
