Hi all, I have a port Jackson fig that was left on its own for a few years, it was even chewed on by a previous owners dog ( the actual root) . About a month ago I started to feed it and have attempted to bring it back to life, I repotted it and have watered it once a day. I have attached some photos, let me know if you have any advice or can describe the trees health from the photos.
Kind regards
Andrew

If it were mine I would cut every branch down low and let grow.

Depending onthe size you want. You could plant in a big pot let grow and then cut every branch.

I assume you are down under because that fig is an Aussie native and you repotted a couple of months ago. Best to add a location to your profile so recommendations will better match your climate.

Your fig is typical f many that have been neglected. Fortunately these are hard to kill and they will produce new buds from anywhere on the stump after pruning.
It looks healthy enough and we still have a bit more summer so I would go ahead with cut back soon. I've just pruned all mine last week.
Ficus love fertilizer so as soon as you see new buds start to feed it weekly to encourage strong growth and return to health.
I would cut all the long branches back to around 3cm long. Many people are frightened to cut back and so they leave the branches too long then find they still need to cut back again later. It will only ever grow longer.
