Are there any good resources for identifying maker marks on bonsai pots, including ones from outside Asia? I bought a few trees lately, one in a german-made pot, one from Jim Gremel (easy to ID), and one from Japan. All are at least a few decades old. if I post photos of the pots and markings would anyone on here know enough about pot makers to be able to help?

Here's the pots:

First one the chop is hard to make out as its not deeply impressed and the post-rain dampness right now doesn't help.

Second one is the German pot. The cratered glaze looks a bit mid century to me...60s or 70s.

EDIT: found out via the link this one is by Andreas van Kerckhove and it's not German as I thought but Belgian.

Since I'm playing show and tell, this is the Jim Gremel pot with a blue atlas cedae in it I got at the same sale as the other two. That one was easy to ID as his signature is written on it!

Figured out the other one too. It's indeed Japanese. I had the mark upside down in the photo. It's Hisada Shizuo and matches the middle mark in the photo.

@Brian thanks again for the great resources!

Welcome. Think the kiln name for this pot is Keizan. Like many Kilns in the Tokoname co-op, the quality varies widely within each.
