Curious about pot types. I want to repot these tridents into the glazed terracotta type pots for some extra room for the roots. Is there any reason why NOT to go from these bonsai pots into the bigger ones that had some kind of flowers my wife had grown? Thanks in advance!

Larger pots will usually give more growth and trunk thickening so no problem with those pots.
Just be aware of the (relatively) smaller drain holes in the new pots. I've had roots block the single hole after a year or 2 and turn the pot into a pond thus drowning the tree.
Shape, size and depth of grow pots is not really relevant to bonsai, especially trident maple, as we can reduce the roots back to required when the tree is to go back into a real bonsai tray.
