Potting up - side textures for root development?

It's not the texture of those pots that makes the difference. Each little bubble has a hole, and the root that grows out there is air pruned. So, using bubble wrap won't duplicate that effect. You can see more about the pots at http://www.superoots.com/. The system works great, but you can imaging what it's like to get a tree out of one of those pots.

We use Rootmaker pots, which offer a similar air pruning effect in a pot that is more practical. This is all similar to the use of collanders, etc that you see in lots of threads and magazines.
