These 3 come from Evergreen Nursery in Tn--a San Jose, a Shimpaku, and a Blue Pacific.

I've planted them in 10" pots and plan to let them acclimate until spring before I do any work on them. Just thought they were awfully nice for only $9.95 each.

I'm thinking maybe windswept for the San Jose, but don't know what the Shimpaku will work as. The Blue Pacific is intended for a cascade. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated, as these 3 plus a Nana and a Variegated Parsoni are my first Alabama trees.

That does look like a nice size shimpaku for $9.95.
I would put some wire on the trunk and put as much movement as you can while it’s young. Very tight and sharp bends as the bends will lessen over time. As much as you can do with out breaking something. As far a design, after wiring I would let them grow and let the trunks thicken for at least a couple more years and study it in the meantime until you find a design for the tree.
